Activity Friends

tidung ..

Yup, i challenge my self by going here. It had been idle task on my to-do list for almost 2 year. Yes indeed it’s one of those crazy adventure i mumble all the time since college year, as this one also made a memorable print-out like others. *halah*

We arrive earlier at muara angke around 6am, a bit early in the morning. 1st task is finding the el capitain who’ll guide us on departure and a brief about the island in the next 2.5 hour trip. Which eventually turnout an unexpected storm come straight at us in the last 1 hour mile to shore. It halted us in the middle of sea for half an hour, letting the machine cool down and let the wave calm from rash.

Day 1

The weather is not so friendly at all, as we arrive i called pak cipto on his whereabouts. He called a pedicab and we went straight to home stay directly. The rain kept pouring hard for the next 3 hour, and spend time being watch tv on air conditioned (AC) living room. There goes my chance for snorkeling earlier but later had my short cycling time around the island.

Thank God on 2pm the rain stop, the shy sun slowly appear behind those thick cloud. My discussion with guide suggest next morning will be great for snorkel, so then. This afternoon we cycling around, a walk on beach and have a glimpsed of that famous bridge that connect this main island with it neighbor island which is smaller.

As local tales said this bridge connect the island comes from the legend of current ruler of the island. His grave rely on the main island and his queen buried on the neighbor island. Bridge made the connection and for those who step on this bridge would made a great relationship (superstitious huh?).

The bridge itself is a wooden plank, reinforce and construct on top of concrete based construction. Pak cipto told me on first it was made duly on a tree based foundation, steps covered with plank. Sea humidity, sea salt, rain and wave mostly shorten its ability to remain strong and agile, then DKI PU made another stronghold construction to reinforce strong foundation for the bridge with steel and concrete. In the future probably bridge will eventually concretes.

It’s pretty long bridge, with rotten plank on most sidewalk, we’ve got to take careful step to not let ourselves plunge into the sea (well its not that deep, probably about 1 meter at least).

The rest of the day we spent on beaches on both island, sunk our feet from knee to feet to water and walk around the beach. At night pak cipto brought us local fish delicacy to eat along with well prepared house made dinner (different menu from what it gave us on lunch, but still help fulfill my tummy).

Day 2

Yea, we only take 2 day 1 night trips. the ship will leave after Jumatan, so we still have plenty time before that, sink ourselves on sea and snorkel around. I used to be a good swimmer, but rarely practice since in college, now i’ve forgot most of basic (what a douche). But i managed to float safely, even i had to get myself scratch from coral reef a bit.

After Jumatan we headed back to ship. Different from yesterday today the ship is not as packed as yesterday, but the el capitain said weekend mostly pack with tourist vice versa. I took top floor to have more space to lay down and have real view of sea. The weather was mild. We arrive at muara angke 2.5hr later.

It’s a pleasant journey, tiring and adventurous.
